This cache has been archived.

Skookum Bear: As the cache owner has not indicated that they have visited the cache location to replace it if it was missing, perform needed maintenance, or verify that it is still there within a reasonable amount of time, I am regretfully archiving the cache to clear it from the active cache database and open the area to new caching opportunities. If the cache owner would like to replace a cache at this location, please submit a new geocache listing and it will be reviewed under the current Geocaching guidelines.

Please do not respond to this note by sending an email reply - your response will go to an unmonitored location and disappear into the ether instead of being sent to me. If you need to contact me regarding this cache, please do so using the link on my Profile Page

Geocache Description:

Located near a large rock tower in the lower part of Lynn canyon. Terrain is a bit rough and there are some steep cliffs. Not too difficult to locate once you get there.

Located in a beautiful part of Lynn Canyon that very few people ever see. The cache is located near the top of a rock pillar that towers over the creek above a deep green pool. There is a second pillar that is split off from the main rock face and there is a river channel between the two. Very spectacular! The terrain is a little rough and there are some steep cliffs near the cache, so be careful here, especially if you have children with you. There are a few different approaches to this spot but the easiest one to find leaves the main trail at 49.19.832N, 123.01.398W. If you visit during higher water levels you might be lucky enough to see some kayakers paddling the creek. This is one of my favourite spots in Lynn Canyon and you won’t meet many muggles.

After finding this cache head downstream to the creek for a nice cool-down.

Mostly filled with trinkets for the kids but there are few goodies for older folks.

Note: The path down to the cache and the tower itself are covered in blown-down trees. The obvious trails are now not so obvious. Please be careful making your way down to Vulcan's Tower!
