Geocache Description:

SHORT WALK FROM PARKING LOT. EASY FOR KIDS. NOT EASY FOR WHEELCHAIRS.

THIS IS IN THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA ARBORETUM. THERE ARE SEVERAL TRAILS THAT CAN BE WALKED. I SPENT MY CHILDHOOD IN THESE WOODS AND AS SO THE LIKELY SPOT FOR MY FIRST CACHE. PARK IN THE MAIN PARKING LOT AND JUST TAKE THE PROPER TRAIL. VISIT THE OVERLOOK PLATFORM FOR A GREAT VIEW. WATCH FOR POISON OAK. IT IS EVERYWHERE. IT IS NOT ON THE TRAILS HOWEVER. THERE ARE MAPS AVAILABLE ONLINE AND AT THE PARK. THERE ARE PICNICK TABLES IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE LUNCH THERE, AND IT IS NOT CROWDED AS IT SHOULD BE. HAVE FUN! NOTE: THERE ARE TICKS ALL OVER THE PLACE THIS TIME OF YEAR. THE REALLY SMALL ONES ARE A REAL PROBLEM. I HAVE REMOVED 4 OFF ME AND THE KIDS THIS WEEK ALONE.
COORDINATES ARE FROM THE ROAD DUE TO HEAVY TREE COVER. LOOK WITHIN 15 FEET.
