Geocache Description:

CSU Stanislaus Letterbox Pictorial

The basics:

This cache is NOT at the posted coordinates!
Finding this cache involves locating the pictured sculptures and answering questions about them to find the hidden cache. The sculptures are all within 1/2 mile of the starting coordinates, but you should be prepared for a couple of miles of walking (and a couple of hours) to find them all. The final cache is a Letterbox Hybrid (very rare in these parts)! On-campus parking will cost $2, although free parking is available (depending on your luck).
The difficulty rating is based on the amount of time and travel required to find the final cache. Assuming you have the correct coordinates, the final cache is a 1.0 difficulty.

The details:

One of our favorite (and most ambitious) caches was ' Cardiff Pictorial' by Write and Mane in Cardiff, Wales. Their cache inspired us to create this Letterbox Pictorial at a nearby campus; California State University, Stanislaus.

Your mission is to find the following sculptures on campus and answer questions about them. Those details, along with a little math, should lead you to the final prize. The final cache contains a stamp, inkpad, logbook, and space for a couple of small trade items. Please DO NOT TAKE THE STAMP or INKPAD! Letterboxers usually use the stamp to record their find in a personal logbook, and sign the cache logbook with their own stamp. More information about Letterboxing can be found here: http://www.letterboxing.org.
The stamp is hand-made, but the image is NOT my design. I'd like to give credit to the designer here, so if you know who did it, please email me. *You have find the cache to see the image ;P

There is parking near the starting coordinates, but a $2 permit is required (and recommended). Lots are patrolled frequently. Street parking is generally free, but subject to restrictions and availability. Be prepared to walk or bike! Depending on your luck (and if you don't ask for help), it may take an hour or two to find all seven sculptures. Each sculpture is within 0.5 miles of the starting coordinates and easily visible.

Pictures are welcome here, but please don't give away clue answers, the location of the final cache, or the image on the Stamp. If you can, note in your logs how long it took to find this cache.

Finally, it should go without saying, but I'm going to anyways... This cache and the pictured sculptures are on University property. Please be respectful of campus rules and the art. Watch out for muggles! Look around and don't get caught making the final grab!

Have fun and good luck!

Congratulations to ItsInTheGenes and triplewisdom on the FTF!

Note: Sculpture #1 was removed in July, 2009.
