Have decided to give away a
Laptop and a PDA at this event - GEOCOINS THAT IS!!! AND THE
WINNERS ARE - Laptop - Attroll and PDA - Girlmate -
Congratulations to the winners! I have placed a call to you -
PM or email me.
Join others who use GSAK, wireless and
paperless caching to learn more about it. Discover and/or trade
geocoins and TBs. Get hints on putting out a cache of your own and
maybe even some supplies. Cruise on down for another nearby event
after attending the Last Cache Bashe of the Summer. If you couldn’t
make the day time bashe in Hampden – this is an opportunity for you
to join fellow cachers for an evening event. If you went to the
daytime event – this is a chance to just continue enjoying your
caching friends into the evening. Can you imagine the opportunity
for nearly 12 hours of immersion with fellow geocachers (depending
on how late you stay up!)?
There is plenty of grass for camping, there will be a
port-a-potty, hot tub, caches nearby if you want to do a run, table
for TBs and coin trading and/or discovery, cache container/cache
supply swap table, caching discussion, wifi available on the deck,
pot luck supper and then coffee, tea, hot chocolate and light fare
on Sunday morning.
Event will be held – Rain or Shine – come prepared for the
weather – bring your swim suit and towels. Keep the motion going.
Hang out. Talk about caching, enjoy the companionship of other
cachers, meet people who put out caches or just come to swap travel
bugs, coins or discover them. Take a night walk and do a few local
caches – all within 2 miles.
Event starts at 4:00 P.M. and will end with a “Cook’s choice”
breakfast on the deck between 7:00 A.M. and 9 A.M. on Sunday
morning. From here, everyone can take off to return home or find
caches on their way home. The closest cache is within ¼ mile and
walkable from the camping.
Geocaching Stuff!!!!!!
• TBs Coins and other trackables should be placed on the
designated table on the deck for swapping, trading and
discovery.
• If you have personal coins you are carrying – please share them
with others.
• Cache container – swap – Here’s how this works – bring a pre-made
container or anything which may be fashioned into a container.
Bring one and take one. It will be fun to see how the juices may
flow with imagination here. Also you may bring logs, short pencils,
pens – anything to contribute so we can get supplies from one
another to make new caches. Swag is also welcome. Put it on the
table or location designated. Be fair with one another when
considering what you take and try to make your swaps somewhat
equal. Does anyone have any unique containers to swap? Have we
camoed some containers and just didn’t have a place to put them?
This would be a chance to get some containers into the hands of
some who might be willing to place them.
• Food – yes, food is always part of a Geocaching event. The
evening meal will be pot luck. I will have one grill to use and
everyone is welcome to bring another. Please consider food safety
as this may be a hot weekend (we could hope). Nothing special is
planned but I am sure there will be plenty. On Sunday morning, I
plan on putting together a buffet breakfast. No one needs to bring
anything (except for your supper contribution) unless you are a
picky eater or want something special.
All geocachers are welcome! Please log your intentions –
questions – please email me. Looking forward to this get
together!
Parking will be clearly marked and camping is down back behind
the house - there is plenty of room. Questions - please ask ehwn
you arrive.
This should be a fun opportunity for folks to stay over and
enjoy a whole weekend in our area for an extended event beyond the
“Last Cache Bashe of the Summer” (GC13Y8D) here in Maine. This is being held in
consultation with Mainiac1957. All are welcome – even if not coming
to Mainiac 1957’s Saturday event, if you can come for the just the
evening or overnight – join us. Logging your intention to attend is
importanct so I can have enough breakfast food. Thank You and
looking forward to a great turn out!
Special Geocache Escorted Run!!!
EMSDanel, who also lives in Orrington, has
offered to do a fun, Safari, GeoZoo, Owner escorted, run of his
Zoo. This is warranteed to be a fun excursion! It will leave from
the event about 1 hour before sunset. All cachers are welcome
regardless or your previous viewing of the Zoo Exhibits. Dan
promises this will be a tour to be remembered! If you have not
found the zoo exhibits and are coming to the event, wait, - if you
have found them, join in anyway and there will probably be a
surprise the night of the event. Potential guided tour Zoo visitors
- please log your intentions on this event page. There will be a
car pool, too! (and for Hiram) that doesn't mean he can wash his
car! LOL Hope all the attendees who may want to attend will have
fun with this one. If you do not wish to go to a zoo, there will be
folks hanging out for geotalk, on line stuff and whatever
too.
