Geocache Description:

Hordern Stoops, at the base of Will Narr hill, is the source of the River Yarrow. As with many rivers, the source is not some big, defined spring, more a mucky pool of indeterminate origin.

The river feeds the reservoirs at Anglezarke and Rivington, and outlets to join Black Brook at Yarrow Bridge, then continues through the ancient woodland of Duxbury into Yarrow Valley Park and onto Eccleston and Croston, where it feeds the River Douglas at Sollom just before its inlet into the River Ribble brackish final stretch. The entire course of the River Yarrow falls within Chorley and its villages. Parts of the river are a County Biological Heritage Site.

Take a look at the local boundaries, which pass through the middle of the reservoirs. These boundaries were formed on the course of the original riverbed.
