Victory Lane's wedding reception this past weekend was at the Fort Des Moines Museum. A very elegant place to have a reception. I would recommend it to anyone that is in that stage of their life.
I would also recommend people go to the museum. There is a beautiful reflecting pool and courtyard. It would qualify for one of ddCustomFittedBras (Man, they gotta change their name) City Jewel caches. I am going to ask the curator about placing a cache there. I don't know how successful I will be. There is a great lightbox exhibit of the Iowa Tuskegee Airmen.
Hence, this brings us to this cache. It is located close to the P-51 Mustang exhibit just north of DMI. It is painted to honor Captains Luther H. Smith (#93) and Robert W. Williams (#10.) Both these men received the Distinguished Flying Cross. Please visit the related web page to learn more about these two great American heros. In addition to Smith and Williams, there were ten other Iowa Tuskegee Airmen. All of there names are on the plaque at the base of the P-51. Enjoy the history lesson and look closely.
