Geocache Description:

What a great history this cemetery has.

This cemetery is associated with the Wesleyan Methodist Church at Bowerman's corners.
The cemetery was first know as Bowerman after the deeply religious Mrs. Thomas Bowerman. Her husband Thomas operated a tavern to which Mrs. B objected. Determined to put an end to this evil Mrs. B destroyed all the barrels of whisky in the cellar.

One of he sons became a minister, her husband donated the land for a church a half mile down the road and Mr, D Pettet donated the land for a burial ground.

The Restin` series takes you to some of the areas early history. The names of the settlers are reflected in the area road names. Cemeteries are closed from dusk to dawn.
