Geocache Description:

After defeating the Rabbit of Caerbannog and escaping from the Legendary Black Beast of Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh, King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table meet their next challenge at the Gorge of Eternal Peril. Rather than cross the gorge, the geocacher will walk the length of the gorge in his or her hunt for the cache.

The cache is located on public land near the Savannah River. You can get fairly close to the cache by a dirt road. The entrance to the dirt (sometime mud)road is located at 33 29.752N 081 59.756W. The entrance to the road has been blocked to cars and trucks by the county, bikes and hikers are still welcome. It is a 3/4 mile trek to the beginning of the gorge Then walk the length of the gorge to get to a good starting point for the hunt. You may figure out that there is a short cut to the cache, but this would require stopping on the side of a highway, and is not recommended. Tree cover gets denser the closer you get to the cache. Aerial photos don’t even show the dirt road once it gets into the trees. You are looking for an ammo box containing a log and several goods.
Congratulations to DsquaredMsquared for the FTF!
Thanks to Inkahoots for his alert that the county has now blocked the road to cars.
