Geocache Description:

Located in a 100-year old abandoned quarry, with great views and waterfalls nearby!

This is the first cache in Clarion County, as far as I know. It is near my childhood home, between Perryville and Dutch Hill. To get near it, take Bartow road, either from Terwilliger road or Dutch Hill. Enjoy the view on the drive in, but be prepared in winter and spring, as it is a marginally maintained dirt road and never gets plowed. I have seen people down here on *nice* Harleys, just be careful. Take a truck or a beater like my brother's Toyota Celica. :) Park at N41*4.168' W79*39.134. Continue down the hill in the road on foot, take the dirt lane to the right, and enjoy the beautiful scenery at Buttermilk Falls, a local landmark and great place to cool off in summer. After that, continue down the lane, staying on the same side of the creek. follow the lane up to the impromtu camping spot with the great view of the Allegheny River. Look for a 4-wheeler path that follows the ridge out on the right. Follow it along through the woods, passing under the large cliffs left when stone was quarried out of here a long time ago. At this point you are pretty close, the rest is up to you and the GPS! After finding it, head straight up and over the hill to your parking spot. Good luck!
