Geocache Description:

Multi cache located on the southern part of the Island, near the coast at an altitude of around 60 ft. above sea level. The terrain is flat but you can find some heavy overgrowth around the cache.

This is one of my favorite sites to visit when I practice mountain biking near my home. I'm not gonna tell you nothing about the story of the site because it's inside the cache , the only thing I can tell you is that these are the ruins of an old mill, remains of the sugar cane industry of the southern part of the island.

This is a multi-cache that involves one micro tubular rubber container with coordinates for the final cache, and a final cammoed oatmeal container with the story of the site and the "goodies".

This is no walk at the park so be prepared for some exploring. the vegetation around the ruins can make you disoriented easily and on rainy seasons there's heavy overgrowth so you got to do bushwhacking. It's highly recommended to bring insect repellent, long pants and long sleeve shirts. PLEASE WATCH YOUR STEPS ALWAYS, THERE ARE UNDERGROUND MACHINERY AND STRUCTURES ON SITE.

The cache is located outside the main ruins for safety purposes, but I personally encourage you to visit them because you can't miss to see an early 1900 structure.

Because of the dense canopy of the area, coordinates are not very accurate. Hints are supposed to help you with that matter.

Now your directions to reach the site:

If you're on San Juan take highway #52 South to Ponce. There are two ways to reach the site, the fastest (a little tricky) and the longest (safest).

The tricky one:

Take the next exit after exit to route #545 Gabia. Make a left when you finish the ramp and look for the new 536 Road. (Check the signs, this road doesn't appear on the GPS maps). The access road to the ruins is on road #536 between km. 1.1 and 1.2 (Remember the chimney is your reference mark).

The safest:

Take exit #76 Santa Isabel Coamo, take a left when you finish the ramp then a right to road #153 south, at the intersection of road #1 take a right (West), then look for road #536 (North).

If you're coming from the west part of the island take highway #52, exit #76 and then the safest one from above.

First to Find: Congratulations to Cofresí!!
