Trees of age Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Bagdad & Trooper: I am really sorry that I have to remove the cache immediately. Part of an e-mail I received;
"I'm so sorry, but we had to remove your geocache today. The dead wood fragments and snags around Patriarch Grove are part of a long-term ecological study, they are being tracked as part of several long-term bristlecone studies that have been going on for decades. The forest service was upset that people were walking off the trail around the patriarch grove and picking up the dead snags to look for the cache." I had no idea and will remove the cache listing. Thanks for understanding.
Latest update; cache will move. Soon?

Geocache Description:

Access via a graded dirt very WASH-BOARDED funky road mostly over 10,000 feet that is not open in winter. A sedan will make it to the cache but make sure it's a rental car. Unless you have a Range Rover.

If you have never been to an area where the oldest living beings inhabit, this place is a must see.
The cache container is an empty 3 "C" cell mag flash light. Accessing the meager goodies is by unscrewing either end. Location is near the Patriarch Grove at about 11,300 feet. As you should do with any excursion into the mountains, be prepared for bad weather, make sure your vehicle is in good condition and be aware of your physical conditioning. Make sure you have a lot of water and film.
