This is perhaps a slightly different puzzle than most, but
hopefully one that will help you recognize some of the many faces
of NoVAGO! If you know many of the NoVAGO members already, you may
find this puzzle easy, if you don't, you may find it a bit more
challenging, but hopefully not impossible! My goal is that even
geocachers visiting from other areas should be able to figure out
the puzzle with a little web detective work.
In order to obtain the coordinates for this cache, you will need
to look at the pictures here on the cache page below. They are
pictures of various NoVAGO members holding up signs with a single
digit on them. The trick is to figure out who's who, and you'll
have the coordinates! The coordinates are in the form:

If you're new to geocaching and/or new to the Northern Virginia
area, you may wonder just how you are going to be able to complete
this puzzle. My goal is not to make this too hard, so I've
given you some suggestions on how to proceed in the "Puzzle:"
portion of the hint. Yes, they are long and not really meant to be
decoded on the trail, but chances are you're going to need to be
online at home to see all the pictures anyway!
In order to keep this cache at least a little bit challenging
though, I ask that when writing logs for this cache, please do
not link directly to any pictures anywhere on the
geocaching.com site which could help out with this puzzle. Also,
please do not post any pictures with your logs which have
any of the people named as part of the puzzle identified in any way
(watch out for name tags from during the event cache!). Any logs
that do either will be deleted first, and then you'll get a note
from me asking you to re-log your find without the spoiler.
The cache itself is hidden in a fairly exposed area where you
may be seen at a distance by people from many directions. Please be
discreet when retreiving the cache to preserve the integrity of the
hide!
The cache is close to one of the blazed trails in the park, when
you enter the woods, you *should* be on a blazed trail!
Please follow the trail and do not bushwhack until you are with 60'
of the cache.
The park has a $7 (!) entrance fee for those who do not
live in Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority member
jurisdictions of Alexandria, Arlington, City of Fairfax, Fairfax
County, Falls Church and Loudoun.
