Near beaver ranch park not too far off of the “fitness trail”, which is the meadow trail leading down Hill. The cache location had a foot-path leading up to it last year, and now is overgrown. I used to run this trail a lot (rarely stoping to calf-stretch :) )???
This trail mergers with Black Hawk trail, which has a few caches along it.
Park at the trail parking provide (near porta-johns) The meadow “fitness trail" leads downhill from here, then intersects with the Black Hawk Trail. Black hawk loops up and around, ending near community center and Bark Park.
Jefferson County Open Space purchased the
former YMCA Camp Newton in May 2001 with
the agreement that Beaver Ranch Community,
Inc. would operate and develop the property for
public open space, park, and recreation purposes.
The park is designed to promote both passive
and active recreational uses with a trails
program comprising the bulk of the planned
passive community use. The park consists of 446
acres of varied terrain and is open to pedestrians,
bikers, and equestrians.
