A quick grab and run right at the edge of the road at a historical plaque honouring Agnes MacPhail; tiny cache with only TINY trade items.
Agnes MacPhail was Canada's first elected woman Member of Parliament in Ottawa (1921), and later one of the first two female Members of the Provincial Legislature (1942). She was born near here in Proton Township in 1890, was a very active campaigner for worker's rights, and established the Elizabeth Fry Society of Canada to work for reform of the criminal justice system. Grey County erected this plaque in her honour in 2006; she died in 1954 and is buried in a cemetary in Priceville, about ten miles to the north. Read more about her at www.clanphail.org/roots/agnes_mcphail/
Watch for muggles driving by - pretend to read the plaque til they're gone!
