This is a peaceful, beautiful walk along the Tumwater River. You can get a couple other caches on this trail, as well.
On July 16 2006, kids from the youth group and their friends and family came here after church to enjoy the afternoon and do some swimming. A couple girls, Mindy and Liza, got out into the middle of the stream on a floatie and the current swept them away. Their youth leader, Meghan, jumped in to try and save them. They were swept down to the footbridge area, and only Liza came out alive. This cache was placed in their memory last year (it has some pictures in the gallery that people might find interesting): No swimming allowed
On the one year anniversary, the Wenatchee SDA Youth group went down to the spot to hold a memorial service. They placed some crosses in the spot, and placed a cache as well.
As always, please be careful in this river. It looks placid, but it can be strong.
