UPDATED INFORMATION: If you are going to require a taxi from town up to Stonecliffe, you will need to make a reservation with the taxi company. Their phone number is 1-906-847-3323. You will need to call at least an hour in advance to reserve a ride. Taxi fare is $6.50 per person each way....We will be having a geocaching game on the grounds of Stonecliffe the day of the event. Those who find the temporary caches placed for the game will be put into a drawing to win a gift card. If the winner has left the island by the time we have the drawing, we will mail the card to them....There are still spots available for the group buffet dinner on Saturday night, which is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm. If you are interested in attending, please call Michelle Bolen and make a reservation for yourself. Her number is 1-906-847-3647....Please be aware that there is a limited ferry schedule this time of the year. Shepler's has more boats running than the Arnold Company, but you'll need to check their websites to see the specific times available....Bikes are available to rent at Stonecliffe if you need them....I plan to be hanging out at Stonecliffe most of the day on Saturday, so anybody can stop by to ask questions or get maps or use the bathroom!

Come join us on beautiful Mackinac Island for a fall caching adventure! We will gather on the island in the morning at 10:30 am (tentative time) in the great room of the Stonecliffe mansion for a brief get-together prior to venturing out to visit the island caches. Coffee and tea will be provided, along with a few other goodies to get your engines up and running!

The Cyclops family has 33 caches on the island. It is advisable to bring your bike, as the cache locations will take you traveling several miles around the perimeter and interior of the island. The Arnold ferry charges $7.50 per bicycle to bring your bike over to the island. Stonecliffe will also have bikes to rent during the event. After a day of caching, we will re-group for dinner (on your own/location TBD).

Accommodations can be made at Stonecliffe resort (1-906-847-3355), which is offering a special price of $168.00 a night per room. This price includes tax and a full hot breakfast buffet each morning. There is also a $5 charge per bag to transport your luggage from the ferry dock to the resort. All rooms at the resort, including the luxury rooms in the new "Summer House," are available at this rate. Please mention that you are part of the "Michigan Geocaching Organization" group to get this rate. We have a limited number of rooms available, so book your rooms soon.

For those who might prefer to lodge elsewhere on the island, check out www.mackinacisland.org for lodging recommendations.

Ferry tickets are $21 per adult round trip. To save $2 on every adult ticket and $1 dollar on every child ticket, go to www.arnoldline.com.

In addition, each attendee at this event will receive a raffle ticket for a free prize drawing, which will be held after dinner. In addition, each attendee will get a special gift! If you would like to donate a prize for the prize table, this would be greatly appreciated, but not necessary.

Island maps will be available for those who want to travel around the interior of the island. It is highly recommended that you take a map with you if you are unfamiliar with the island. Some of the interior roads can be quite difficult to navigate, so be careful if you have small children with you. The perimeter road, which is 8.2 miles in length and fairly flat, offers several caches for those who prefer a less strenuous adventure.

The specific schedule of this event will be updated as more information becomes available.
