The First Official Meet and Greet Potluck

Tired of having to run into geocachers at the cache sites?
wish you could put a face to the name?
want to tell someone about your hunt for their cache?

Come join us in our first Red Deer Meet and Greet potluck



Location: McKenzie Picnic Shelter (See Coordinates)
Date: August 11th 2007
Time: Start 4 pm potluck at 5 pm
Food: Hot Dogs and Bottled water is provided.
Please bring a food item for the potluck, snack or refreshment item to share.
**with the current excellent turnout we are expecting it may be helpful to bring a lawn chair or two along as we are going to outgrow the shelter...

Area Description: The McKenzie Trail Recreation Area picnic shelter is close to playgrounds and walking trails, with open fire pits and firewood available seasonally. Washrooms are open year round. Pets and alcohol are prohibited in all shelters. Access to McKenzie Trail Shelter is from 55 Street and travel north on 45 Avenue until the road ends. See Map Attached

Come and go as you like, you are encouraged to bring trading items, stories from your hunts
or come and relax or play a few games.

Please log your visit as "will attend" on the cache page if your able to attend, So we can have a good idea how many people will be present.

TB ADVENTURE: Open to anyone interested
How it works: bring an unactivated Travel Bug DogTag to the event along with your racing item, That is all that you need to do in order to be in the race, all Travel bugs will be activated at the same time and dropped off into the same cache at the same time. from here the race is on to Canada's 1st Geocache (GCBBA). Each racer can collect all sorts of points along the way. Next year at the next Red Deer Geo Event the owner of the racer with the most points will win the grand prize.

Want to race? here is what to do.
Buy a Hitchhiker (Travel Bug Dog Tag) bring it along with a Item to attach the tag with , this will be your racer. that is all you need to do.

RULES:
  1. Racers are not allowed to move any other racing TB
  2. Racers are not allowed to photograph other racing TB (for points)
  3. Photographs must show the TB in the image
  4. Only 1 Racer per person
  5. To complete the round trip TB must be present at next years event.
  6. Under NO circumstance can a TB be mailed or courier during the race.
  7. Penalty of 100 points for any voilations

Each Province The Racing TB visits

Each time the TB is Discovered

Each Time the Racing TB visits a Webcam Cache (TB must be visible in webcam photo)

Every Mile the TB Travels

1st Racing TB to GCBBA

2nd Racing TB to GCBBA

3rd Racing TB to GCBBA

4th Racing TB to GCBBA
