Geocache Description:

A spot that I drive by daily and look at, I mean really look at.

I look at that sign with all the groups and their meeting times. There's one at the entry of almost every town for group members to feel welcome whereever they go. (**Update...the club signs are out for repair due to wind damage)

I look for that long lost sign of the (in)famous apple. So much fighting over it and it's replacement down the street. Now they've replaced it with a bright, shiny and neon contraption. Very Vegas-like compared to the old one.

I look at the landscaping that at one time was nicely thought out but now forgotten. Although, it appears they're trying to bring it back a little. Not enough in my opinion since this is the offcial entrance to the city.

I look at the condition of the bridges. How both are similar and so different. The modern one drving south and the old one drving north. The older one has all the character, but the roadway is in need of repair.

I look out to the water as I drive over the bridge. The time of year telling how high and fast it's running. Will I go kayaking or worry about hitting snags if it's too low? Are the Salmon running? How far upriver has the ice packed in the winter? And the look upriver to see the Highline Canal pipe.

Lastly, the view. Southward to Saddle Rock. A painting by a local artist has been made of this spot and I was fortunate to be a winning bidder at an auction. (I still haven't told my husband how much I spent for the painting...)

Welcome to My Town!
