Makuta Teridax: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

I have earlier asked about the plans for this. That is now more than two months ago. Due to lack of response from the owner, this cache is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Plassert i nærheten av Eidsvoll Stasjon - et flott landemerke i Eidsvoll.

Eidsvoll Stasjon

I 1854 ble den første jernbanen i Norge åpnet. Den gikk fra Christiania til Eidsvoll. Grunnen til at Eidsvoll ble valgt som endeholdeplass for den første jernbanestrekningen, var beliggenheten nær vannvegen til Hedmark og Oppland, og videre til Trondheim. Alt før jernbanen kom, var det hyppig frakt av varer på Vorma og Mjøsa. Etablering av jernbanen i kombinasjon med dampbåt på Mjøsa og Losnavannet, ga et effektivt kommunikasjonssystem mellom hovedstaden og Ringebu.

Dette var en strekning på 27 mil, halvparten av vegen mellom Christiania og Trondheim. To år etter at jernbanen var ferdig ble Skibladner satt i trafikk, og over 150 år etter går den fortsatt i rute mellom Eidsvoll og Mjøsbyene. I 1880 sto jernbanen mellom Eidsvoll og Hamar ferdig, og i 1998 ble Gardermobanen mellom Oslo og Eidsvoll åpnet.
Eidsvoll stasjon var Norges første jernbanestasjon. Bygningen fungerte både som stasjon og som jernbanehotell. Stasjonen ble et sentrum med hotell og restaurant. Her spiste konger og nobelprisvinnere, herfra reiste godseiere og rallarer. Stasjonen var kjent for sitt kjøkken og sin flotte atmosfære og den var et knutepunkt for mye av samferdselen den gangen.

Eidsvoll station

In 1854 the first railroad in Norway opened. It vent from Christiania to Eidsvoll. Reason why Eidsvoll became ending station for the first railroad, it was close to waterways at Hedmark and Oppland , and further on to Trondheim. Establishment of the railroad in combination along with steamboat at Mjøsa and Losnavannet , made a effectively communication system between capital and Ringebu.
This communication system reach 27 miles , half of way between Christiania and Trondheim. To years after the railroad was completed came Skibladner in traffic , and 150 years after it continued in circuit between Eidsvoll and Mjøsbyene.
In 1880 was the railroad between Eidsvoll and Hamar completed, and in 1998 became Gardermobanen between Oslo and Eidsvoll opened. Eidsvoll station stayed Norway first railroad station. Building was acting both as station and as hotel. The station became a bull's-eye along with hotel and restaurant. Here ate kings and nobel-prize winners. Station was famous for her kitchen and it was a centre communication.
