Geocache Description:

This cache represents a couple of things that the SouthBayCrew is very fond of (not counting geocaching).

The older half of the SouthBayCrew truly enjoys mathematics. Yes, we know that sounds strange. Many years in college studying trigonometry and integral calculus will warp a person’s mind. On that note, the SouthBayCrew grownups wish to share their fondness of math by offering the following problem:

Find the volume V of a 20 cm diameter sphere with a 7 cm diameter hole drilled through its center.

The younger half of the SouthBayCrew has yet to appreciate the finer points of the mathematics behind this problem. If you wish to know what they like, you’ll need to find this cache.

The actual cache is located at these coordinates: N 37° 17.nnn W 122° 05.www
i = Volume V with all digits to the right of the decimal point truncated
j = The first three digits to the right of the decimal point of volume V
nnn = (i - 237) ÷ 7
