Fritch Depot Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements.

Geocache Description:

Easy park and grab. Please bring your own pen/pencil as cache contains log only.

The railroad has played an important role in the history of our country. The right of way for the Rock Island Railroad that was purchased in 1924 later became the town site of Fritch. The town of Fritch was also named after H. C. "Fred" Fritch who was the Vice President of the Rock Island Railroad in Chicago during this time period. This cache is located at the site of the original Rock Island Depot. After the depot was closed it was moved to 109 North Roby and was converted into a residence.
