Located in Eldred Sherwood Park, near Goodell, Iowa.
Eldred Sherwood Park is located 3 miles east and 1 1/4 miles north of Goodell. The park is 100 acres in size and contains a 21 acre man-made lake known as Indian Lake. There is a very nice campground by the lake with 40 modern sites and 5 non-electric sites. Hunting is not allowed in the Eldred Sherwood Park.
The cache has been placed with the permission of the Hancock County Conservation Board. The container is a plastic peanut butter jar that has been covered with camouflage tape. It is marked with an official geocache sticker. The cache is hidden along an interpretive trail that circles the lake. There is no bushwhacking required and the trail is fairly easy walking. The entire length of the trail is 2.1 miles, but you won’t have to walk that far unless you want to. There are several places to park, but the easiest is at
N 42º56.57’ W093º33.96’. The trail starts to the east of this parking lot and there are usually self-guided brochures available at the trail-head.
This park is a designated Cache In Trash Out area, so please help to keep it beautiful. After you have found the cache, take a moment to relax and enjoy the view.
The contents of the cache when placed were Log book and pencil, 2007 Jeep Commander Travel Bug, CITO bags, Chicken Little Toy, Cyclone keychain, and a Costa Rica coin.
