Geocache Description:

KROQ radio site

Now available to all GeoCaching members!

tOoLb0x, Lennybird.com, K6CCC, rothenmr, WWeJohn, UNCLEJON91, and Not Tom went on a caching run through the San Rafael and Verdugo hills. Figured that we could find a few places to put out some new caches. We did. As it turns out, we placed four new caches. Now you need to find them...

This one is near a radio site that used to house KROQ AM. They spent years trying to get it to work right. Turns out that AM broadcast stations on mountains do not work so well. The AM station has been off the air for years. Now there is a bunch of other radio equipment there.

The cache is not inside the fenced enclosure, so don't worry about about climbing over the barbed wire.

You are looking for an ammo box that started out with an assorted collection of GeoSwag.

The gate is at the end of Sunshine Dr. at N34 10.596 W118 14.307. You have to park down the street to avoid a parking ticket, but the GCTNTE A Sunshine Drive by BrianK124 cache is right next to legal parking. As you hike up the road, there are several other caches on or very close to the road:
GCE182 Tom's Cache by Jason Torrey-Payne and Tom Waldrip
GCMKB7 Dunhnh, duhn duhn-duhn... by chaosmanor and Webfoot
GCTKP3 Mini Tintin by owllion
GCW72N Butt Kick Hill Cache by outdoorguy7474
GCAA38 Las Flores by Howell
GCF3DC Glendale Views by W6LAX

There are more if you take some side trails, or continue on farther...

The hint is a bit of a spoiler so look only if needed

Wheelchair access: Forget it!

Congrats to Collin & Daddy for the FTF!

I am very particular about maintaining my caches. If you find an issue with this cache, please include that in a log entry, or send me an E-Mail about it.   Thanks

Enjoy!
