Roan Edge quarry is active but the bridleway is in fine form and gives interesting views into the depths of the holes. It can be muddy in places so boots are a good idea. The cache can also be approached from the south.
A short walk along the bridleway brings one to the summit and a grand panorama. As well as taking in the landscape from the trig point, the cache site provides a good view to the east over Killington, Sedbergh and the Dales.
The motorway is down below and it makes an unusual spectacle at night. Unless the wind is from the east, there isn't much sound of the traffic up here.
