Geocache Description:

This cache is dedicated to Guglielmo Marconi who received the first transatlantic wireless signal at Signal Hill, Newfoundland, on Dec. 12, 1901....the letter "S" in Morse Code sent from Cornwall, England... and ushered in the dawn of modern global communications!!!
It's quite a view from the top of this hill that's less than four miles up Hwy 28 from Smoky Lake!!! There is a large communications tower perched on the crest. I made my first mobile QSO using my HAM radio from the top of this hill after I set out the cache with WD8CCC, Ben in West Virginia on the 17 Meter band!!!
Lately I've started UPLinking to satellites with my Ham radio from on top of this hill...if you should pull in to log the cache and see some guy with a strange looking antenna on a tripod...say Hi...it's probably me!!!!
It would be nice to keep the Radio theme going in this cache... but feel free to trade any type of items.
Have a FUN Adventure!!! Number SIX in my DONE A DOZEN "FUN ADVENTURES" Certificate of Completion program!! See my profile for more info!!!
