Penbryn Pond was acquired by the State of New
Jersey in 2006 for use as a Wildlife Management Area. It is
also known as the Stella Farm's Pond, located about a half a mile
behind the Stella Farm's stand on New Freedom Rd. Looks like
an old sand pit that has gone back to nature.
The main attraction to this lake is the fishing as
evidenced by the jumping bass. The area could really use some
clean-up, so feel free to CITO as you seek this cache - it
would be appreciated.
While placing this cache there was almost
uninterrupted over flights of geese. Other than incessant
goose honking, its really serene back at the cache site.
There is also a rough boat ramp here and room for
some more caches - perhaps a paddle too. It's not the best
area for night caching as WMA regulations close the area after 9
PM.
There is a trail along the lake shore and a couple
of old roads. You will need to walk about a half a mile to
get to this cache. The trail is a little rough for a
bike. You won't be able to drive to this cache.
