Geocache Description:

Located in New Salem Campground Cemetery, with a gravel road that is fairly level. Shouldn't be too tough.

This cache is located near something that is sort of unusual for a cemetery. And at another cemetery where I put a cache, many logs mentioned the dog that is there. So maybe this is my dog series? There is also a civil war veteran buried nearby. There are many US Civil War graves throughout, including an unusual husband and wife set of markers. And as someone has already logged, an actor from the late 19th/early 20th centuries (note his date/day of birth and his date/day of death). No graves need be disturbed to fetch this cache, and in fact, one doesn't even need to leave the gravel road.

There is no caching at night and a sign is posted that the sherif's department patrols the cemetery. I was there hiding the cache, taking readings, notes and photos and didn't even notice the sherif's car parked back on the parallel road. I don't think he saw me hide the cache, but he surely saw me taking photos and walking around. But the car never moved, and no one got out to question me.

To see the thirsty puppy. Stand in front of the cache area and look to the NW. Or go to N 38º 02.210 W 087º 34.036

The cache contains only a log, so bring your own writing instrument. Please be very careful and respectful to property when retrieving. Replace as it was found.
