This is a reincarnation of my original Toy Box cache, which was stolen. I decided to archive the old one, and create a new one in a totally different area.
I found an entrance to a new and untouched (by geocachers) section of the Malabar Scrub Sanctuary! From Babcock Street in Palm Bay, head east on Fallon. When you see the Dead End sign, turn right on Admiral Drive, then left on Oaklyn Street. This will end at Englar Avenue, and you will be facing the Sanctuary. Turn right on Englar, and park at the end, in front of the 3 red diamond signs. This will keep you from blocking the road, and from parking in someone's front yard! When you enter the Sanctuary, head south on the trail created by the fire break. Stay inside the fence, as the property to the west is private. After a while, you will come to a trail that leads into the woods. The cache is located just off the trail, no bushwacking is necessary. Total distance from the car to the cache is approximately 1/4 mile.
Bring the kids out for a great walk in the woods, to discover Toy Box 2, which is stuffed to the brim with all new toys!
Malabar Scrub Sanctuary is open October thru April from 7:00am to 6:00pm, and May thru September from 7:00am to 8:00pm. Please observe all park rules (including No Dogs). This cache has been approved by the EEL Land Manager.
