Geocache Description:

Welcome to Team cdmark’s seventh cache hide. Created with the idea that if Mars needs guitars then Murchison needs caches!

Many of you may not know this but apart from some great old buildings, and a little bit of history, Murchison as has a little bit of Hollywood about it. Murchison resident Pam Western is a well-known actress and presenter appearing in national television programs such as Neighbors, Secret Life of Us, Stingers, Blue Healers, and Here’s Humphrey. Pam a two times gold Logie winner also appeared along side Graham Kennedy in the 1960’s on the popular program In Adelaide Tonight, and also appeared as Tanya’s (Kate Beahan) mother in Chopper.

In 2002, Murchison was the location for a little known, but spooky film starring Guy Pearce and Helena Bonham Cater, Till Human Voices Awake Us.

2006 saw the successful Australian movie Kenny take the Aussie Cinemas by storm, and Murchison appeared in the film as the hometown for the films title character Kenny. Word around the campfire is that Murchison is the real hometown for Kenny actor Shane Jacobson. I have therefore bestowed a great honour on Mr. Jacobson and renamed the Murchison Bridge to Kenny’s Bridge! (STCA).

The coordinates above will take you to Kenny’s Bridge where you will be looking for a magnetic container that holds the coordinates to the final cache location a short walk nearby.

Whilst at this spot take note of the former Gregory's Bridge Hotel that was built between 1865 and 1868. It was known as the Thorne's Bridge Hotel and Store until the 1890’s. It was a substantial country hotel that also comprises a large general store as part of the building, stables at the rear and the remnants of a once magnificent garden, including an enormous plane tree in front of the building that was planted in 1913.

Once known as the 'Mecca of the Valley' because of its four acres of magnificent gardens and riverside setting, the former Gregory's Bridge Hotel was extensively patronised by tourists, commercial travellers and local inhabitants and maybe even Kenny’s grandfather!

At the above coordinates who will need to find a magnetic container about the size of a key holder which contains the coordinates to the final cache location.

The cache container is a 1.2 litre Sistema container. Contents include log book and pen. Original swaps include:

Log Book and Pen, Craft stick-ons, metal unicorn, lint remover, rubber ball, rubber snake, rubber frog, FIFA key ring, egg timer, space spinner, and TB - Race To Chinese Spirits.

We were tempted to leave a toilet roll as the "log" sheet but thought it would be too hard to write on!
