Cache is close to Echo Lake, headed to Jewel Basin Hiking area off jewel basin road.
This cache is to celebrate Paula’s Birthday and Mine. Hers is Aug 7th and Mine is Aug 18th. Its our first Birthday as Geocachers! We placed this cache on the way to jewel basin for any out of town hikers who don’t know where it is to take advantage of the beautiful hiking area up there. If Hiking is your thing, Follow the road all the way up to the hiking area. You wont be disappointed. Maybe when I am in better shape I’ll venture up there. My mind wants to, LOL but the body isn’t willing. Watch out for angry squirrels. They were throwing pine nuts at us and screaming for us to leave! LOL. Please remember, No smoking here in the summer. Stage 2 fire alerts are in effect and CITO on your way. We pulled out 2 bags of trash from the parking area. Looks good now. Hope you enjoy.

FTF---Not going to say what it is but its in with the logbook and mechanical pencil, pen. “You found it info sheet”, Pencils, Crayons (in zip lock), Rainbow strap, Hockey Puck Business card holder, US flag tennis ball, Deck of cards, Irish bracelet, Sm. Teddy bear, flaming eyeball antenna topper, Raw Baltic Amber, Petrified wood and other polished rocks, 42pc first aid kit, Hungry Horse and Huckleberry patch bumper stickers and silly putty. Cache is a small green ammo can.
To get to the cache you need to find Echo Lake. Once your on echo lake road, you should see a sign that says Jewel Basin with an arrow. This will be foothills road. coordinates N48 07.566 W114 01.466 Take this road to coordinates N 48 08.168 W 114 00.478. There will be Jewel Basin Road to the right with a sign telling you jewel basin hiking area is 7 miles. Take this road about seven tenths of a mile and there will be a parking area. Coordinates are N 48 8.371 W 113 59.816. There are concrete barricades set so no one can drive back there anymore. Park there and walk to the cache. Its only about 75yds away.
