Geocache Description:

The area can be active during peak hours. Please use caution and good judgement when searching for cache as others may be watching.

This is the fifth in a series of caches placed in the beautiful Lebanon Memorial Park. The cache is in a camo covered pill bottle. The cache contains log, pencils and a 1979 Susan B. Anthony dollar for the FTF. At the time of initial placement, the cache included a few items to trade including a wild women pin, sea shell, golf ball markers and a key chain.

While in the park take a moment to walk over to and around the Herr Cabin. This is a classic example of mid-1800’s home building.

Built by Nicolas Yount in 1839 but later presented to the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in 1937 for use as the James Hill Chapter House. The house stands as a memorial to member Abigail Herr. The cabin was presented to the Lebanon Memorial Park by the DAR in 1967.

The cabin is available for daily rental through the Lebanon Parks Department. There are two fireplaces and an oven.

Note: Cache is not located at the Herr Cabin but the cabin can be seen from the cache site.

Congrats to 'IN5explores' for being the FTF!
