A cache 'n' dash from the Glasgow Fort shopping centre, in the adjacent Auchinlea Park. No travel bugs please (due to a high likelihood of being muggled)
Glasgow is known as the "Dear Green Place" and boasts some impressive public parks.
The Glasgow Fort shopping centre gets thousands of visitors each year, yet few stop by this park. Take some time out, sit on the benches, feed the ducks....and grab a cache.
The park is at the edge of Easterhouse on the outskirts of Glasgow, approximately six miles from the city centre.
Originally 74 acres in size, the park is now a compact 20 acres due to the development of the Glasgow FORT retail centre which now forms the southern boundary of the park.
The Glasgow FORT estimates that some 10 million shopping visits per year come to the site and Glasgow City Council is seeking to encourage more visitors to use the park by restoring the historic buildings and providing interpretation, providing a visitor centre, regeneration of the parkland, improved access and signage and new visitor attractions.
Opening Times
The park is open from 7.00am till dusk daily however the specific facilities within the park are subject to opening times.
The cache itself is near the walls of 15th Century PROVAN HALL.
