Mark Your Territory: GOWT Moves West Traditional Cache
stevespencer824: Well darn. I hiked back to check on this one today, on my newly scoped right knee, which may not have been the smartest thing I've ever done. Unfortunately, it does appear that the cache is gone. There's some evidence of moving water at GZ, which would have easily floated the cache away, though I thought sure this would be high enough to avoid the water. I don't have another container baked up, so I'll open this .1 circle up to someone else. There's some great places for full size containers and/or evil camo out here!

Being new to the area, I felt it was important to make my
contribution to the area’s hide count quickly. Sorry it’s a micro,
all my ammo cans are still in storage. But I think it will be worth
your time to hunt.
This is going to be a terrific park when it’s finished! There’s
already a pretty nice trail system, and really, who doesn’t like a
nice, quiet walk in the woods. Now, I know what you’re thinking,
“micro in the woods, SHEESH!” I know, I know, I hate ‘em, too, but
really, this one is in PLAIN SIGHT! It’s just covered in…camo.
Geocachers like to “mark” their territory, and this is just a
crappy little cache to get me started. There could be some Poison
Oak in the area. I tried to avoid it, but since I’m not allergic,
I’ve never paid much attention to it. You could probably do this in
dress clothes, though your shoes would get a little dusty. But if
you think the terrain is tough, keep in mind I rolled my 80 pound
14 year old in a wheelchair to within 20 feet of the cache…twice!
Careful not to break the container, and please take care to roll
the log up and close the container properly so it doesn’t get wet.
Special thanks to all the Oregon-SAGA bunch who have done such a
good job welcoming us to the area!
Thanks to Salmondan for the parking coords!
