Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden in Mlawula Nature Reserve, near Khabane Cave.

The above co-ordinates are not for the cache. They will take you to the recommended parking at a unique bird hide, which is the start of the trail to the cache. The trail is well marked by blue rings on trees, white arrows, and stone cairns. The cache is hidden in one of the cairns along the trail, but you will need to solve the puzzle below to find out which cairn.

We were planning to hide this cache at the cave, but after visiting the cave, we decided to rather place it lower down where it's accessible to the whole family, and the unfit, and the views are almost as good as from the top. Expect an easy walk of about a kilometer on level terrain, then a short climb to the cache which is about a quarter of the way up to the cave. If you continue on to the cave, expect a stiff and tiring climb, but you will be rewarded with an interesting location, and superb views.

The cache is a 3 litre lock-n-lock in a waterproof camo bag. Please replace it carefully so that it is not visible from any angle, and it's secure from animal interference.

The bird hide is also a good starting point for a visit to the nearby Waterfall Cave cache, about a kilometer in the opposite direction. If you continue south a short distance with the main road through the park, you will find a masterpiece of engineering in the form of a very steep pass up the mountain. The pass is suitable for a car, and has stunning views.

See waypoints below for the entrances to Mlawula Nature Reserve.

If the sum of the individual digits of your south answer is 32, and east is 28, then you've got it right!
