Deze cache is één van de “Negen Monniken” serie geplaatst door 9 medewerkers van een japans bedrijf.

This cache is one of the “nine monks” serie placed by 9 employees of a Japanese company.

Het is niet te vermijden dat er ook stukjes over de weg gewandeld moet worden. Het is een rustig weggetje, maar loop altijd links van de weg, tegen het verkeer in.
Ook moet soms van begaande paden worden afgeweken. Some parts of the cache route take you unavoidably along a road.Even though it is a quiet road, walk always on the left side of the road against the direction of the traffic.
Sometimes you have to leave the beaten path.
In de route zijn een aantal Japanse kenmerken geweven. Het is verstandig om de gehele tekst te lezen voordat je op pad gaat. Het begint al met het vinden van het startpunt. Hier moet ook enige kennis van Japan voor vergaard worden.

De cache ligt in het landgoed Frieswijk. Frieswijk was in vroeger tijden bekend als bedevaartplaats. Thea Beckman heeft er zelfs een boek over geschreven. Het hoogtepunt van de bedevaarten vond plaats in de 17de eeuw. In diezelfde eeuw leefde in Japan Matsuo Basho, de vader van de Haiku. Een Haiku is een Japanse dichtvorm, waarin meestal natuurschoon beschreven word.
The cache is located on the Frieswijk estate. Frieswijk was historically known as a pilgrimage location. Thea Beckman even wrote a book about the subject. The pinnacle of the pilgrimages occurred in the 17th century. In this same century Marsuo Basho, the father of Haiku, lived in Japan. Haiku is a Japanese form of poetry which usually describes the beauty of nature.
