Geocache Description:

In the early 1990's soccer was becoming a popular sport with youth all over the country. Marysville Youth Soccer Club had been providing kids the opportunity to play recreational soccer for several years and many kids wanted to play soccer year round. So Marysville began forming "select" teams to give kids the opportunity to compete year round with other select teams in the area and throughout the state. As more teams were formed the program needed a name and the Marysville Force was born.

Teams were formed through a tryout process in early March and began competing in spring and summer tournaments throughout the state. Some teams even traveled to Canada, Oregon and on occasion California. Currently there are soccer tournaments every weekend from the end of June until the beginning of September somewhere in Washington State.

As more kids began playing for Force teams the skill level of the program began to grow and teams began to win games at the Washington State Youth Soccer Association (WSYSA) spring League Placement Tournament. These teams were winning spots in the State's Premier divisions where they were playing against the top teams and players in Washington State.

With success came the challenge of becoming even better so in early 2000 the Force program began hiring English trainers and goalie coaches. These professional trainers brought the international world of soccer to the local community and kids began to work hard at perfecting this "Football" game that these English Footballers were teaching . Soccer had reached a peak in Marysville. There was at least one Force team in each boys and girls age bracket U11 through U18. There were almost 300 kids playing in the Force program and over 1500 kids playing for Marysville Youth Soccer.

In 2005 WSYSA made a change to the premier soccer landscape in Washington state with the formation of the "by invitation" Premier Development League (PDL). This PDL became the goal for any team wishing to play at the highest level of competition. In order to compete in this new league, programs have to prove they are providing the highest level of training to the kids in their program. In order to meet these requirements many programs in the state are combining and Marysville decided to take this same approach. So beginning in 2007, Marysville Youth Soccer dissolved the Force FC program and combined with Lake Stevens and Granite Falls to form the new Pacific Premier Football Club.

Adios Force...You maybe gone but you will live in our hearts and memories.
