Geocachers have an Adopt-A-Highway and it's that time of year
again to clean it .
WHEN: Saturday,
Oct 27 from 8:30am – 11:00am
WHERE: State Highway 78 between mile markers 84.5 and
86.2 in the beautiful Anza-Borrego Desert State Park near the
conurbation of Ocotillo Wells, CA.(population 150)
There will be a briefing at the posted coordinates. The briefing
will begin at 8:30am to get instructions, vests,
and bags, take a group photo, and to sign forms. We will then get
started and work until about 11:00 am or whenever
the job is complete. I will bring some water but I suggest you also
bring your own. You may find other items helpful such as long
pants, gloves, and sun screen.

CalTrans Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup Rules:
If possible, carpool to work site
Keep vehicles off the right-of-way of state highway
Make sure workers wear safety gear provided by CalTrans
Face oncoming traffic, Look out for danger and look out for each
other
Avoid overexertion
Stop work in inclement weather
Do not remove hazardous substances
Do not pick up items on bridges or on the pavement
Do not bring anyone age 18 or younger to the
Adopt-a-Highway area
***A waiver must be signed by
each participant in the cleanup***
Come on out Friday and spend the night, I mean this is the weekend
of the big Annual Campout, and be nice and fresh for Saturday
morning. Late comers are always welcome though.
