OReviewer: Hi,
I'm sorry, but I have to archive your geocache because it appears to violate one of our listing guidelines, found here: http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#offlimit
The list of off limits locations for geocaches includes "caches that are buried. If a shovel, trowel or other “pointy” object is used to dig, whether in order to hide or to find the cache, then it is not appropriate."
I hoped it wasn't buried and pulled the box out of the ground hoping to find an animal tunnel under it but alas I couldn't. By every definition I know, this cache is buried and as such, I am forced to archive this. Even if you say it's not buried, realize that most people will see this idea, assume you did it the wrong way and assume it's ok. Caches hidden like this is why land managers force permits and bans.
If you wish to pursue a cache hidden in this manner, please have the land owner contact Groundspeak directly at contact@geocaching.com, referencing this cache and its GC number, to discuss this matter. It is in their hands now.
Thanks,
-O
