Geocache Description:

A little trail candy at the halfway point up Mount Si.

I have been hanging onto this container for a long time, waiting for just the right location to hide it. On my way up Mt. Si, I was surprised to see there were no caches to get on the way up there. This cache is at the halfway point. I got it from One Degree: Steaks #1 - The Zoo during the Spokane Cache Machine. It was so cute, I couldn't resist taking it.


What is an Okapi, you ask? Well, they are really cool. Their legs and back end are striped like a zebra, but they are actually related to giraffes. Their tongues are so long that they can clean their own ears with them! Parents will appreciate this: Baby okapi don't defecate at all until they are 4-8 weeks of age. This prevents the odor from attracting predators. Okapi live in the dense rain forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo in central Africa. They are threatened by continual loss of habitat and the unstable politics of the region.

This is a very simple easy cache that is not in a sensitive location. Read the hint before you are tempted to trample anything. You are looking for a container that is neither a micro nor a small, but somewhere in between. Enjoy your climb up to Mt. Si.
