Most people claim they love ammo cans hidden
in the woods. They say that they are easier to find
and there is lots of room for trade items that stay very well
protected and it's a very traditional thing to do. In
addition, they usually bring us to great out-of-the-way spots
with no one to spy on us (unless the crew is
lurking). Hey, I don't
disagree, they always warm the cockles of my heart when we
find them, but sometimes they can be very well hidden and
difficult to find. And they can't be easily hidden in high
traffic urban areas without raising serious alarm to the
general public.
Then there are people who love the quick urban cache and dash
type hides. They enjoy the thrill of the muggle situation and to be
able to test their stealthy skills. These hides also offer an
alternative to not being able to get away for a long arduous hike
in the woods or when the extremes of the weather inhibit it. Who
dosen't like to be able to hop right back into the geomobile that
still has the A/C cranked on a tropical day or night? Or who don't
want to prepare to go on an Iditarod or regretfully forget to bring
the crucial item with you that would have made the difference
between living or freezing to death. But, on the flip side, they
can be a bit redundant and boring, but it's fun to 'get our numbers
up' with them.
And still yet, there is another school of thought, bringing the
best of both worlds into one - the dreaded 'micro-in the-woods'. It
would seem, people either love them or they hate them. I guess that
would depend on how you percieve them. But, I think, it depends
more on whether you've found it or not at the time. I certainly get
a kick out of the cachers that claim they hate them, and yet, still
go find them AND place them. Multicache or not, it's still a
micro-in-the-woods. Granted, they definitely require some savy and
a different set of geo-skills, but they can be placed tactfully
with some geo-sensibillities.
We just happen to LOVE and appreciate them all!
All in all though, we are very glad that there is a this varying
spectrum of different cache characteristics. They all offer unique
sets of challenges that require newer and more interesting sets of
skills. If there was only one approved recipe for a cache, wouldn't
that be a bit boring afterall? I'm always very impressed at peoples
creative innovations. It's always quite fascinating to witness the
ever changing and evolving nature of this sport. This cache is no
exception.
So, what are you looking for? Go figure it out!
Well, here you go, Sunrayers. Your request has been granted.
less bugs, less brush and there is a cooler nearby with iced cold
drinks within. Even though we are not the biggest fans of Dunkin'
Donuts, we are of this spot, so there is a large iced Timmy for the
FTF prize. Not much room for tradables inside, you'll see why, but
yet it still contains a bunch of trinkets for the little ones and
some TB's for the big ones. These coords have been checked and
double, triple, and quadruple checked.
So, good luck, have fun and happy caching!
