Connecticut Ave. Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

CHRISNSCOTT: Sorry to see this one go, but the Forest Service has now put up a new sign stating only foot traffic and motorcycles can now go view where this cache was. I'm and ATV'er and put this up there for fellow ATV'ers. Being a board member of a local ATV club I do know that the Forest Service CANNOT enforce this new sign though, until they release there 2008 Travel Plan that we have been told is "Coming out soon" for many months now. They also are putting up alot of new "CLOSED" signs to trails that we have been riding for years and WE pay for with OUR tax dollars, isn't this forest PUBLIC! So fellow ATV'ers write your congress and do one step better, join an ATV club and make sure they are fighting for us and the future of OUR sport, otherwise pack up and sell your quad, cause we'll all be stuck to Off road vehicle parks like a caged exhibit!!

Geocache Description:

Welcome to our last in the series of our Light Blue of our Favorites-O-Poly.
This is the best view from around. quite a hike to get here only about 670ft gain in elevation from parking coords to cache and about .75 of a mile one way. The parking coords are N47 22.094 W116 24.279. Cache is a ammo can. We placed this cache after having come up here last year to do the "Just for Doug" cache, that is now archived. Ironically we did that cache the same day that Doug, the one who it was named for, did. After that it was archived. On the trip up to hide it we removed the old container that was left and placed our closer to where the trail comes up. I have included a photo from the last cache up here to let you see the view, I forgot my camera. The ATV trail from the parking coords to the cache is the best route and on the riding scale of 1-5 would be rated more a 4-4.5 as it gets steep in spots and alot of riding over loose shale rock, but can be done.
Remember that in order to keep this view beautiful stay on the trail and also remember that this is definately God's country up here.
