Geocache Description:

On the north summit of Wrong Mountain at ~ 5,080'. Anyone planning this hike should be prepared for a long day and the hiker will be handsomely rewarded with spectacular views.

Got up early today hoping for another bluebird day. I was a little disappointed with the high overcast skies but decided to go place this cache anyway. As it turned out, it was a great day for a hike in the hills. Much cooler without that sunshine beating down.
I got to the cache site by hiking up the Carter Lake trail at ~ mile 33 on the Seward Highway. Shortly after the trail levels off near Carter Lake I began a grueling bushwhack through tall grass, ferns, pushki, devils club, alder and numerous other species of local flora. Eventually, the ridge above tree line was reached and then it was a pleasant but long uphill hike to the northern summit of Wrong Mountain. This is not the true summit of the Mountain.
The return trip was pretty much a repeat of the way up but I had the benefit of gravity working for me. The bushwhack was still somewhat brutal even though it was down hill all the way.
