Geocache Description:

This cache is accessible from Courthouse Parks main North entrance.

The Old Stage Coach Trail is now a hiking, horse, and groomed snowmobile trail. The cache is located above the flood plain of the river near where the stage coaches crossed the river. Use the North route. It is a beautiful hike through the park woods from another cache located to the Northwest.
A history note regarding the Stagecoach River crossing. If you look over the cliff edge near the twin trees there is a sandbar on the corner of the river. This is close to where the stagecoaches crossed the river. There were 2 stagecoach stations in the area. One on each side of the river. If the river was too high the stages need to wait till they could cross. This was the start of the town of Wilton. Across the river from the cache you can still find foundation remains of the station hotel and grocery. These are on private property.
