Geocache Description:

Located at 7200 feet in elevation right off Highway 88, Silver Lake is a sparkling gem set in a large granite basin — a perfect setting for family outings. The lake’s history includes use as a resting spot on the Emigrant Trail that was forged by the legendary Kit Carson. Sandy Cove picnic area at the lake provides parking, picnic tables, vault toilets, barbecues, and lake access.

This is a great location for a short stop to stretch your legs or stay and play for the day or make a weekend of it by camping at one of the local camp grounds or even rent a cabin locally.

A fun, short hike awaits the cacher for this SEEK & FIND.
