Where it began ...
It began here? Not exactly. Actually, it began 2 caches earlier.
But at that time, there was a cache placed here that provided me
with my first geocaching success. My first FIND, the 3rd
cache I visited, the 3rd geocache I had been searching for. But the
first I actually found!
So let's have a look at my real start. The cache is called
'Schetzelbuer'. A few days earlier I had been told about that
geocaching thing, I visited a course and the instructor from the
belgian coast told us what he was doing during each day after the
class had finished. It sounded like fun. As I owned a GPSr I had to
try ... The start was not so great however. The location was
quickly found as I knew it already, actually I thought that it
would be a great location for a cache even before I was looking up
caches on geocaching.com. OK, so I would not hide a cache there,
but finding my first cache would be great aswell! So I thought.
Well, it's not easy if you are on the track all by yourself,
without support of a more experienced geocacher. I was going
around, searching for a long while, but I was not sure what I would
have to look for so I had to accept that I had been defeated.
The second try was at 'Raschpetzer'. Again I had no success. But
from there it was only a short walk to the location of my first
find. This time it was easy, and I could find the cache without
problems. Since then my first found cache has been archived as it
needed maintenance badly and the owners had not been active
geocachers anymore.
In the meantime I had lot's of fun geocaching, visited many
geocaches.
Now it's your time to visit the place (again) where it
began. Please be careful at the hiding location! Don't do stupid
things and it won't be dangerous! Remember to have fun!
