This is a fairly straight forward cache but it involves a wee bit of exertion to get there. It is located along side the Rosewall Creek although in the spring the "creek" may swell substantially and it may be a little more difficult to navigate portions of the trail. The walk is quite long and we figure about 1.5 hours round trip without the search for the cache or the gawking at the waterfall.
The trail is well groomed but has a lot of roots and a few steep areas. If you are taking your kids then just keep a closer eye on them. The trail ends at a gorgeous waterfall and the cache is located in an area where it is easy to access. For the more adventurous types you can continue on the trail and traverse the large fallen log to cross the ravine (not for the faint of heart or small children) and you can explore the base of the waterfall quite well. There is a trail that heads up the hill NW but it leads to nowhere (that we could find) but is a nice workout if you are up for the challenge. Enjoy the waterfalls though as they are pretty and picturesque.
The cache is a small ammo box filled with a few trinkets and baubles and even has a FTF prize. The log book is empty and is waiting for your visit.
The GPS may not be kind to you but you will know you are in the right area if you see quite a few large moss covered rocks strewn about on the NW side of the trail just before you approach the well worn trail on the SE side to the water. If you reach this side trail before collecting the cache you have gone too far.
The cache is located within arms reach of the trail and you do not need to bushwack.
The hint is a spoiler but only because we know how exasperating it would be to walk this distance and not be able to find the cache, so use the hint by all means but remember, we warned you it is a spoiler.
