Geocache Description:

Located at the Pickle's Butte Recreation Area.

This cache is located close to the summit of Pickle's Butte which is the highest point in Canyon County at 3084 feet. Take a look for the nearby benchmark. This area is open to off road vehicles. So with the appropriate vehicle, motorcycle or ATV, you can drive to the top of the hill. If you lack the vehicle, a short hike from the road will get you there just the same.

When I looked at the topo map of this area, I noticed that the Canyon below the butte is called Deadhorse Canyon, which is now the site of the county landfill.

Please look past the landfill and it's namesake canyon and you can see the beautiful valley and lake lowell spread out below you. On a clear night, with binoculars you can see the tall buildings in downtown Boise. So look past the dump and enjoy the view.

The cache is hidden completely out of sight in the rocks in a used but clean mayonaise jar that has been painted green. Make sure to replace the cache back in the rocks so it isn't visible.
