This is the master cache to a series of 8 micro caches placed by the side of public footpaths in area’s of woodland around the Rotherham area. If you successfully visit and find these 8 caches you will be able to find this cache - ‘Wood you believe it – Master cache’.
The idea of this series is to test your knowledge of trees. It may be easier at this time of year due to the fruit and foliage appearing on most trees. It is fair bet that you will have admired a number of trees whilst walking around the delightful countryside but do you know what type of trees they are? You must correctly identify the type of tree at the 8 micro cache location’s and then look up the value of the relevant tree on the list shown below. As an example if you think the tree at a given location is an oak tree then you should look for the value of Oak i.e 0 and insert it in place of the relevant letter found in the cache container.
The value of trees is as follows:
0 - Oak and Ash
1 - Sycamore and Yew
2 - Hawthorn and Elderberry
3 - Beech and Willow
4 - Poplar and Cherry
5 - Lime and Elm
6 - Holly and Rhodedendron
7 - Maple and Pine
8 - Sweet Chestnut and Horse Chestnut
9 - Silver Birch and Mountain Ash
Finally insert the value of the tree against the respective letter shown in the coordinates as follows:

The cache is not at the coordinates shown on the cache page (this is the middle of the steelworks in Parkgate) but it is within 5 miles of here. There are several parking spots available that will become obvious when you identify the final location. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE SPOILER INFORMATION THAT MAY HELP IDENTIFY THE CACHE LOCATION.
The cache is a small tupperware style container with a touch of cammo added. It contains a cache box card, log book, pen, pencil, FTF card and assorted goodies.
