Electric Avenue Multi-Cache
paraclete: A lot has changed since this cache was first placed. The land on both sides of the powerline right of way is owned by the Triangle Land Conservancy, so access is an issue. For this and several other reasons, I am archiving this cache. Thanks to all who took a walk on the Electric Avenue.

The coordinates above are for the first stage of a 2-stage cache. The first stage is a small plastic film canister in a tree that contains the coordinates to the cache. The final is a plastic quart-size container. The route to and from each stage is a dirt track along a utility easement. There is minor bushwacking at each stage, and you will probably need to get your feet wet.
Access to the utility line can be obtained via the end of Little River Road, continuing on gravel until you reach the open space, which is as good a place to park as any. I would not recommend trying to drive to either stage.
This cache is designed mainly to provide an opportunity for humans and their four-footed companions to stretch their legs a little. Total walking distance is probably less than a mile. I saw several wild turkeys, a few deer, and a freshly killed opossum head (yes, only the head) while placing the cache, and there is evidence of hunters around, so exercise caution in that regard.
Update 1/1/2011: Be forewarned that the final stage is located fairly close to the property line of an individual who, in the course of conversation today, left me with the strong impression of being someone who is both zealous in the assertion of property rights and a serious gun aficianado.
