Nice hike out on the wooded trails behind "The Source", which is the birthplace of Poland Spring water. This is part of the Poland Spring Preservation Trail system.
To find this spot, you will need to turn off Route 26 into the Poland Spring Inn grounds. As you approach the top of the hill you will see the All Souls Chapel. Proceed past that on Preservation Way. Parking is across the road from "The Source" in the large lot where many of the areas trails come together. Trail is approximately 1.1 miles each way, and takes you through a beautiful forest to a point where, on a good day, you can see and hear the loons and eagles on Range Pond. This is our first cache placement, so feedback is encouraged either in the log book or in the logs online. Thanks and Happy Caching!
